Iztuzu Beach

Iztuzu Beach

Iztuzu Beach is located in southwestern Turkey. It is 4.5 km long beach near Dalyan. The beach forms a natural barrier between the fresh water delta of Dalyan and the Mediterranean. It is also called „Turtle Beach“, because it is one of the last nesting grounds of the endangered loggerhead turtles „Caretta caretta“, and therefore there is no construction allowed. The best time to see them is at dawn between May and September. The beach itself is a white sand beach, which makes it ideal place for sunbathing and swimming. It is said there is no beach like Iztuzu with one side being fresh water and the other Mediterranean. The sand of the beach is golden and very thin, starting from the mountains, vertical to the sea and close up the edge of the delta.
