Mljet Island

Mljet Island

Mljet is the eight largest island of Croatia. It is situated at the south end of the long chain of Dalmatian islands that ends at the port of Dubrovnik, near the peninsula of Pelješac. The northwestern part of the island was declared a national park in 1960, which many regard as the most alluring in the Adriatic. Mljet features two connected salty lakes, the Great Lake with a depth up to 46 m, and the Small Lake with a maximum depth of 29 m. The sea around the island is deep with an abundance of fish. It is unspoilt island covered by a dense Mediterranean forest, famous for the lovely beaches accessible only by boat. Early swimming in the crystal clear sea is a unique experience here. There are no marinas on the island, just small harbours and anchorages.

Kornati Islands

Kornati Islands

Situated between the islands of Žirje, Dugi Otok and Pašman, the Kornati Islands are the densest group of islands in the Mediterranean. The name comes from the word corona, which means a crown, a name given to the biggest attraction of the archipelago – the vertical cliffs and rocks facing open sea. 89 of 152 islands were declared a national park in 1980, because of the extraordinary beauty of landscape, the rich flora and fauna and the abundance of natural bays. Kornati are a unique experience for those who love crystal clear sea, peace and quiet. Thanks to its numerous coves, bays and „wild“ ports, Kornati are the nautical and diving paradise. There are also 8 cleared up and marked hiking trails which lead to lookouts from which is possible to see the whole Kornati archipelago.
